Climate change indicator update

A changing climate has multiple impacts on our health and some population groups will be more affected by climate change than others. The climate change indicators include the following:

  • temperature: number of days above 25°C, number of days below 0°C
  • drought: number of days with soil moisture deficit
  • health effects: notifications of giardiasis, salmonellosis, and cryptosporidiosis
  • vulnerable population groups: young children, older adults, New Zealand Index of Deprivation, ethnicity
